RECONSTRUCTING A CHILDHOOD DREAM

 

  This work is based on a childhood dream memory that has remained vivid for me for more than twenty years. My childhood home was a long, narrow printing factory that was cold and damp, with sunlight entering from high ventilation windows and cutting diagonally through the corridor, making the space feel like a tunnel. In the dream, I saw a cave-like space where a human figure was bound to a stone wall with chains. The image reminded me of the Hunchback of Notre Dame from Disney animation. A strange green projected light surrounded the figure, creating a strong sense of fear and unease.
