MATERIAL EXPERIMENT SAND AND ACRYLIC

 

  In the next stage of my research, I began mixing sand with acrylic paint to test whether dreams could be experienced as having texture, shadow, and depth, rather than existing only as flat images. The addition of sand created physical relief and unpredictable surfaces within the work. This lack of control felt closely connected to the nature of dreaming itself. Through this experiment, I realised that the instability of materials could effectively respond to the sense of losing control that often appears in dream experiences. This four-panel painting depicts one of the most frequent dream scenarios I experience: being chased. Through the three-dimensional texture created by sand and the sequential arrangement of the four panels, the works suggest a sense of speed and motion.The piece is divided into four panels to reflect the fragmented nature of dreams, where images appear like memory fragments that can be rearranged rather than fixed in a single order.
