THREE EMOTIONAL STATES
My visual research began with an online questionnaire focused on how people describe their dream experiences. The results showed that most participants repeatedly referred to three main emotional states: happiness, anxiety, and blurred, almost colourless sensations. Rather than describing clear narratives or specific events, these responses emphasised emotion as the core structure of the dream experience. This finding strongly reflected my own dream experiences and became the starting point of my visual research. Instead of working from dream stories or characters, I chose to focus on the sensory and emotional layer of dreaming. Through small-scale emotional colour studies, I tested how colour, tone, and atmosphere could translate emotional states, rather than represent concrete objects or narrative scenes.
